Prof. PZ Myers, the author of the excellent Pharyngula blog and one of the West’s most prominent atheists and biologists, has an article up describing himself as the Elvis Presley of atheism. Of course, this raises questions - can we classify people as famous personalities in their own category, particularly bloggers? Well… let’s find out…
- Iain Dale: The Jeremy Clarkson of Right-of-Centre blogging
- S J Howard: The Stephen Fry of independent blogging
- James O’Malley: The Jools Holland of student blogging
- Guido Fawkes: The Richard Littlejohn of right-wing blogging
- Matt Mullenweg: The Moby of Software Development
- Justine Ezarik: The Jennifer Saunders of Web 2.0
And finally…
- PZ Myers: The Jamie Hyneman of Atheist Blogging
(If anything, Richard Dawkins would be Gandalf.)

I’ve noticed something else: does anyone agree with me that PZ Myers looks a little bit like Bill Oddie? The similarity is startling.
